When Exhaustion Wins…

You’ve been up all night because, how can I explain it: “you have toys in your head” (according to one of my twin daughters, insomnia=toys in the head) or only God knows why.

You’ve been in the car for hours, juggling between doctors/specialists appointments, sitting in that waiting room in emergency for hours,  your bottom is numb, you feel so sore and your neck is tight and a migraine shows up for days from stress…

You’ve been juggling between so many: kids schedule, husband very demanding job, household, very demanding family and friends… phew!!! You’re tired. You feel like you’re neglecting the ones you love the most, and you cannot remember the last time you did anything for yourself or someone really did anything for you.

For most of us, these feelings arise daily. We assume that this stage will pass and the next one will be better, and then we discover in the next stage that the challenges are different but just as numerous. What do you do then?

When exhaustion wins, we must take time to refuel otherwise we are no longer able to be a blessing to others. Sometimes it’s ok to let others go ahead to fight the/their battles while we stay behind. We need to find some way to relax, choosing whatever method works best for us.

We benefit when we recognize our need for rest and respond to it. And those we love benefit as well. Take care!

Our ePiC a D v E n T u R e !!

That’s it, we moved to British Columbia (Western Canada), more precisely to Vancouver Island and we now live in Shawnigan Lake! Since Sunday, July 27, we are settling in while enjoying the beautiful summer on the Island.

For the record, this is our 10th move and it was the most relaxed and easy we ever had! Because, we didn’t have to pack anything ourselves (no fatigue), so we decided to make the trip with our car from Edmonton to Shawnigan Lake through the mountains!

Here are some pictures of our beautiful, amazing, indescribable and unforgettable adventure, blessed by the Lord.

Thanks to all of you who have prayed for and thought of us!

School Is OVER!!!!

It’s official, since yesterday: in Edmonton, the school is over, it is holidays youpie! Our kids had a blessed school year.

The system here suits them so much. After our return from Burkina Faso in 2010, Daniel and Michael had continued their studies in Dutch in Belgium. Despite these two-year break with English, they impressed us with their good results. Each received a big congratulation from their schools for their efforts. We are proud of them!

The big surprise is our two miracles: Nema and Dara. They started grade 3 in September 2013 with the kindergarten level (they could neither speak, read nor write in English) to reach their current level in all subjects assigned in English. Congratulations girls!

Now, time for well deserved rest! Happy Holidays to ALL!!
